Thank you for emphasizing 1960's era hard panning. Back in my Walkman 1980's days, listening to hard panning was annoying as one of my earbuds would fritz out, especially the channel with vocals. 😂

I watched yellow submarine on LSD. It was wonderful. The. I watched across the universe. Also wonderful but not as much fun as I hoped. Then watched a hard days night. Then attempted to watch help and MMM bit couldn’t do it. I finished MMM because it’s short. It’s terrible and not good to watch during the comedown. Started help. Never finished it. I’ll give it another shot one day. But the album MMM is one of the best things to hear on psychedelics. It made me trip harder than sgt pepper ever did. I had strawberry fields forever on a loops for about an hour. (It was actually 10 minutes but time ceases to exist).

Monkberry Moon Delight is a banging track.

Backbeat is good though, and to be honest I thought it was more focused on the friendship between John and Stu... that works well. Granted the other three are more like props (well Ringo's not really in there cos he's not yet in the group). Good performances, esp Ian hart as Lennon.

Lots of Beatles solo efforts were not so good, the combination of competition /collaboration of the four led to stricter editing ,they were more democratic if one really disliked a track or a lyric they tended to change it or drop it ,that filter was not there on solo work .

Come on, if there's such a thing as a "fifth Beatle", it's George Martin, hands down. He made their ideas into reality, he played music on so many of their tracks, uncredited by the way. It's George Martin. Debate over.

More Beatles please!

The film gets way too much hate. I saw it in the theater when it came out and the audience applauded throughout. I loved it. I still have my original VHS copy, it's also on my laptop and every few months or so I give it a watch. It's not "Gone With The Wind" or "Citizen Kane", it wasn't supposed to be. But it's a fun watch with some good music.

The red & blue albums were my proper introduction to the Beatles music.

I was not ready for that stuff between John and his mother from nowhere boy to be true, John was young and hormonal and confused, and no mother should have that kind of relationship with there son.

I think the woman the producer ends up with in the end after Elle goes to Jack is Elle's roommate, and we see her when Jack asks Elle to be his roadie in Russia, and then he asks this roommate, and then he settles on the big unreliable guy.

The only way to make the twist work is to think that everyone in the world has Beatle amnesia, not that the Beatles were erased from the timeline. Which means that a godlike force had to revive John Lennon from the dead, give older John a false memory, and the same godlike force had to send a plague of amnesia so that John would live a safe and happy life.

Side note: the line says she was just 17, but it doesn’t have to mean that he saw her when he was nearing 30-he could’ve been 17 when he saw her
